2007 KTM 450 SMR First Impressions

A supermoto rider has to show incredible balance and talent in order to excel. Most of the time, supermoto races are held on a slick asphalt (or concrete) surface interrupted by sandy sections. The bikes are constantly skidding -- in a controlled manner -- which is more than enough to excite the crowd. In Quebec, this phenomenon is fairly new but quickly growing in popularity. The racetracks for supermoto events are the proving grounds most often used by KTM engineers and factory riders. The company created the SMR lineup based on the data collected during these tests.
