2012 Yamaha FX HO Review

2-17-2012

by Pascal Bastien , moto123.com

It turns great and there’s very little heel. Thanks to the redesigned hull, the FX HO crosses wakes better than any machine we’ve tried so far. It doesn’t smash into waves but throws them off to the side instead, and the FX HO did an admirable job of taming that restless Ontarian lake.

Alluringly versatile
Heavy waves don’t get the better of the Yamaha FX HO, thanks in part to its weight but also to its Quick Shift Trim System (QSTS). The feature allows you to adjust the ride of your craft according to water conditions, by way of a control on the left grip. QSTS also enables you to plane faster, and it feels like you have more power at your disposal.

The 2012 Yamaha FX HO is definitely one of the best PWCs in the industry. It’s comfortable, fuel-efficient, versatile, user-friendly and potent enough to satisfy the sporty rider. Who could ask for more?

Pros
Nimble and easy to control
Great at deflecting waves
Frisky, fuel-efficient engine
Helpful electronic aids
Ergonomic

Cons
I’m still thinking
