What else could be expected as the Ducati driver Casey Stoner took his fourth consecutive pole position of the season after having dominated friday's free practices on the Sachsenring circuit in Germany.

The Australian rider even managed to beat the track's lap record along the way. Only Dani Pedrosa was able to come close to Stoner with a time of 0.353 slower to make it second.

Tech 3 Yamaha's Colin Edwards finished third while JiR Honda's Andrea Dovizioso took fourth.

Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo will start the race from the fifth slot on the grid, with Randy de Puniet's LCR Honda rounding up the second row.
