"We're pleased to see entries increase this
season," said PowerSports Entertainment, Inc. CEO Rick Murphy. "The feedback
from our teams, our riders and our sponsors has been overwhelmingly positive.
So, we expect these numbers to continue to grow as we finish out the season at
Wild Cat Creek MX in two weeks and at the August season finale in New
Jersey."
WORLD TRAVELERS...The PowerSports ATV Championship
Tour was witness to international intrigue this weekend, as four riders from
South Africa competed at Taylorville. Wynand Van Der Linde made
a special trip with his sons Alwyn (No. 89 Honda) and
WM (No. 95 Cobra); daughter Marike (No. 95
Cobra), and wife, Zelda (No. 89 Honda) to race here.
"This is just amazing," said Wynand Van Der
Linde. "Everyone has been a great help to us this weekend. Pittman Racing and
Dustin Wimmer helped us with our quads, and we couldn't have made it here
without them. We'll definitely be back next year."
TETHER BALL...Olah Racing had its
work cut out for it this weekend, during its PowerSports ATV Tour debut event.
The veteran PowerSports Snowmobile Tour team had difficulties installing the
required safety tethers on their Jack Link's-sponsored Can-Am quads. Due to
quick work by the team on Friday, they were able to get the tethers in time for
Saturday's QuadTerrain Challenge Pro Stock qualifying sessions and the
final.
