X-town MX and Ormstown FMSQ

8-27-2009

by Guy Giroux

HI everyone, Last week end was a busy one.... My friends a X-town were putting up an MX race , and i had an FMSQ race on sunday... I could not pass the oportunity to race in my hometown , so i packed everything early on friday morning and off to the motocross i was!

It was cool to see my mx friends, and i had a blast laughing with everyone, Flexy was also gonna race the women class, i went off for practice with my spare bike( to make sure my race bike would be in shape for the sunday fmsq race) And after the second straight i knew something was wrong the clutch was cooked??? I spent the rest of the morning trying to fix it but could not make it work??? I even sent Flexy for her moto while i was putting back the cover, my moto was right after hers... Desperate i got the race bike out of the trailer and off to the line i was. Karine did good with a 3rd in her first moto. I got an ok start in about 10th (we were 41 in the vet open) from there i went to work and got in second place by the halfway mark, then i made a mistake and one guy passed me, i tried hard to get him back but ran out of time....

I cleaned everything and off to the second moto we were, Karine got a shitty start, then one chick forgot to brake and rammed her in the ribs and they both crashed, she picked her bike up in last place and did a nice comeback to 3rd at the finish for 3rd overall, but her ribs were not so good, so the icepack and painkillers were ordonned by Dr.Guy Then it was my last moto, i got a better start in 4th the track was dryer, which help my lines, and by lap 2 i was in second, i stayed there all race until the 2 lap sign, then made a perfect move on the inside in front of all the spectator to take the lead... So 3-1 gave me the overall for the day!! But the day wasn't finished i had 2 bikes to clean, load and drive 2 hrs to Ormstown...

Sunday morning came quickly... but we felt good, Flexy ribs were 80% fixed(Dr.Guy rules), i was really confident, Ormstown is the roughest track of the season, its rocky and slippery, and the weather was hot and humid plus this year some section were in dust??? i guess it rains everywhere but there???
