The 2008 Montreal Motorcycle Show

2-23-2008

by Pascal Bastien , moto123.com

At the Montreal Motorcycle Show, there are over 300 different models as well as the opportunity to check out a multitude of stands that are directly related to motorcycles. This major show attracts more motorcyclists than any other event in Quebec. 7 out of 10 visitors are motorcycle owners and enthusiasts for the most part.

This show is a real festival for the senses, because it presents new motorcycle, scooter and ATV models. Visitors can take a good look at their dream vehicle and collect information on the latest accessory and equipment innovations.

Kawasaki ZX-10R

The 2008 Montreal Motorcycle Show is the opportunity to see over forty new and completely redesigned models on the same floor. A few of these vehicles come straight out of the factory, like the speedy new ZX-10R. Unlike the 2007 model that lacked a little virility, this new thoroughbred is inspired from the brand's excellent racing bikes. It is developed to be one nothing less than one of the best 1000cc steeds. Among the new stuff at the Kawasaki stand, you'll see the most powerful touring bike ever produced, the Concours 14, as well as the queen of the Japanese dual-purpose segment, the KLR650.

Ultra-equipped cruisers
As time goes by, Harley-Davidson innovates more and more. Considered in the past as a very-conservative manufacturer, Harley has become today one of the most active of the industry. New models keep rolling out, highlighting mechanical and styling novelties. The new Rocker is a good example, as it has been conceived to celebrate the legendary brand's 105th anniversary. Longer and more stylish than ever, the new Rocker is characterized by a mud guard directly attached to the swingarm. Its solo seat, called Trick, hides a groove in which an additional seat can be attached for an eventual passenger.

The star this year at Honda is without a doubt the new CBR 1000RR, a top-end bike that's equipped with a high-output 4-cylinder engine that incorporates a limited-slip clutch derived from the brand's competition vehicles. The new VTX 1300 is back this year with more equipment than ever. The new T variant comes standard with a bunch of travelling accessories. It includes all the ingredients necessary to attract a clientele that wants to travel in style and without frills. Honda is launching its new CRF230L, exactly what the brand's enthusiasts were waiting for. This new bike fills the gap left by the departure of the XL250L, a dual-purpose motorcycle that was very popular in its time.
