The second 2006 pre-season test concluded today at Phillip Island with a blue sky, little wind and very positive results for the Repsol Honda Team, despite a late crash for Nicky Haydensource: moto.racing-live.comThe track was quite dirty and slippery this morning because of yesterday's rain, but the surface improved throughout the day as more rubber was laid down. Nicky Hayden put in some very positive tyre testing for Michelin, but at 4pm the 24-year-old lost the front and crashed. Though he was unhurt, it was a fast crash and it was decided he wouldn't complete the race simulation or go for a fast time on qualifying tyres. Nevertheless, the American completed 95 laps, with a best time of 1m30.90s on race tyres. Dani Pedrosa put in his best session since making his debut with on the Honda RC211V. He also completed some valuable tyre testing and completed 96 laps, improving his best time from Tuesday by 0.4s. The young Spaniard was pleased to put in a fastest lap of 1m31.10s on race tyres at a track he finds difficult. The Repsol Honda Team will be back in action on February 14 with a three-day test at Sepang in Malaysia.
