2012 Husqvarna Nuda 900 and 900R Preview

1-30-2012

by Pascal Bastien , moto123.com

As for accessories, the Nuda’s compact instrument cluster includes an analogue rpm count and an LCD screen displaying a thermometer, a gear position indicator, two trip counters and a clock, but no fuel gauge. Other gripes include the hingeless fuel cap, a narrow seat that looks uncomfortable (to be confirmed) and a measly 13-litre fuel tank that takes up almost all the space beneath said seat.

The upmarket R

Fittingly, the R version receives fully adjustable Sachs forks, a high-end adjustable Öhlins shock, Brembo callipers and red-and-black Husqvarna racing livery. The German-Italian firm now offers a slew of optional accessories as well, like side cases, a high windshield and a gel seat.

The new Nuda 900 will launch an assault on the Ducati Hypermotard, KTM Duke, Aprilia Shiver and, obviously, the BMW F800R. Given the brand’s know-how, I bet it’ll be a successful one, too.

We’ll get the chance to see this latest Husqy at the upcoming Montreal Motorcycle Show, but for now, we have to make do with pictures. Enjoy.
