There’s something for everyone too: you can stroll down airy boulevards and get lost in a crowd of rapturous enthusiasts, grab a bite or a beer in one of the many bars and restaurants, attend rock shows, gawp at daredevil stuntmen and wet t-shirt contests, try out new bike models, peruse parts and accessories displays, enter a burn contest and cruise helmetless down the world’s most famous beach. Not to mention the daily races held at the famous Daytona Speedway, this year featuring the 71st edition of the Daytona 200.
History buffs can visit some of the oldest towns in the United States, such as St. Augustine, Deland and Mont Dora, which have kept all of their quaint charm. The kids’ll love riding an airboat over an alligator swamp, and science buffs won’t want to miss the Kennedy Space Centre.
The Daytona Bike Week isn’t just about motorcycles though, it’s a way to get the jump on spring. A Florida sunburn is a hell of a lot more energizing than a vitamin C tablet, lemme tell ya!
