2011 Victory Vegas 8-Ball Review

7-15-2011

by Pascal Bastien , moto123.com

Fun and comfort at the helm
The 2011 Victory Vegas 8-Ball offers a stretched riding position that doesn't feel exaggerated. In fact, it proves surprisingly comfortable thanks to a well-designed seat and smartly-calibrated suspension. The latter looks gorgeous with a slammed profile, yet it won't make you suffer for it, provided that you stay away from overly-damaged surfaces.

Braking is handled by a trusty 300-mm front disc and powerful 300-mm rear disc. Stops are always easy to modulate, ensuring safe manoeuvres in the city.

Speed and lap times are not the name of the cruiser's game. However, the ability to tackle one corner after another without worrying too much about it greatly adds to the fun of riding the Vegas 8-Ball. It also means you can exploit the engine's impressive torque and power with confidence. In typical low-rider fashion, shifts are easy, quick and stress-free as you lift the long, stylish lever with the tip of your left foot.

Sexy and easy-going
These two words might describe the ideal life partner, but we're talking about a motorcycle, here. Despite weighing 290 kilos (639 pounds), the 2011 Victory Vegas 8-Ball remains docile and predictable in any situation, even at parking speeds. What's more, the extremely-low centre of gravity gives the impression of straddling a lighter, smaller-displacement bike.

This machine delivers style and performance without sacrificing comfort like so many cruisers do. The most affordable Victory is certainly not cheap, as it doesn't really have flaws and packs all the character and charms that made the American brand famous. What an awesome bike for a Friday night ride under the stars and city lights!
