2011 Harley-Davidson Street Glide Review

11-9-2010

by Pascal Bastien , moto123.com

On winding roads, the bike is precise and stable on angle, despite the fact that the limited ground clearance and limited bite from the front put a damper on sportier riding. On the whole, the SG is both fun and perfectly suited to its task, i.e., lazy adrenaline-free touring. And never forget to brake at both ends, and finish your braking before leaning into corners.

On the highway, the Street Glide offers a relaxing ride thanks to well-padded and shaped saddles, and an engine that runs very quietly in sixth gear.

Keyless ignition works great, simplifying the use of the bike as the key remains in your jacket pocket. (Photo: Philippe Champoux/Moto123.com)

The Street Glide has all the flair and smooth feel you expect from Harley-Davidson, with the brawny TC103’s spot-on performance and retro look – and a smooth ride on nice roads to boot. Add your own personal touches and say hello to your new best friend.

Plus
Popular style that keeps its value longer
TC103 engine perfectly suited to the machine’s size and intended use
Very comfortable saddle
Easy-to-read, nicely finished dash

Less
Rear suspension is too stiff, travel is too short
Annoying turbulence generated by the wind deflector over 70 km/h
