H-D market research has identified a need for a replacement machine for those looking for a less strenuous ride or looking for a more stable base than a two-wheeler can afford, as well as maintaining the H-D image. The response from Milwaukee is the Tri Glide, a three wheeler based on the new chassis components from the Touring family, with two wheels in the back to preserve the gentle handling characteristics and directional stability of a motorcycle, rather than make it into a hyper sensitive device with two front wheels, that tend to snake nervously from bump to bump. Tri Glide users will find the feel they enjoyed so much on the two-wheelers, while converts will appreciate the smoothness of the two- as well as the three-wheel members of the new generation of Touring Harleys. The Tri-Glide is available today, at an MSRP of $37,399 for the basic model. Photo Credit : Harley-Davidson
