The ultra-compact transmission allows the engine to be mounted optimally inside the chassis. This 6-speed close-ratio unit is linked to a hydraulic vaccum assist slipper-action clutch that makes life easier for the rider, who can focus entirely on the road. The final drive belt is 50-percent lighter than a traditional drive chain. This innovative system is also more quiet and requires no maintenance/adjustment.

Geared for the competition

The 1125R gets a new ZTL front brake with an 8-piston calliper developed for the Buell XBRR racing motorcycle. A single 375-mm rotor mounts directly to the rim -- a unique feature in the industry. Meanwhile, the rear brake utilizes a 2-piston calliper and a 240-mm stainless steel rotor.

The aerodynamic front fairing and windshield shape optimize airflow over and around the rider, thus creating less drag. The styling of the 1125R is well executed and very aggressive, which will no noubt increase interest for this new thoroughbred from Buell. With the all-new 2008 1125R, the company is redefining the superbike riding experience.
