As for the suspensions, this Aprilia is equipped with a 48-mm inverted front fork with compression and rebound adjustments as well as a rear box-section swingarm with hydraulic monoshock that also offers compression and rebound adjustments. The suspensions work like a charm in corners and during emergency braking maneuvers. They were carefully tuned to allow the SXV 5.5 to be competitive on hybrid tracks (dirt and asphalt) such as Mécaglisse. We did not get the opportunity to ride this beast on public roads, but my guess is that it will prove to be very fun on the winding roads of the countryside. However, do not plan extensive road trips: with a tiny 7.8L fuel tank, minimal protection against the elements and basic comfort, riding the SXV 5.5 should be considered a hobby instead of a cross-country adventure. | Limited range makes this bike a short-travel companion. | 100-percent pureThe 2007 Aprilia SXV 5.5 is a true race-bred supermoto-type bike, which is why it targets a specific customer base. Exclusive design and exotic personality make the SXV stand out from all the other motorcycles sold in Canada. And its potential on the track is quite mind-boggling. Like I said, it's pure adrenaline.
