Ben Spies, who is dominating the AMA Superbike series, has been called in to replace the injured Loris Capirossi at next weekend's British Grand Prix. Spies had been already scheduled to join Suzuki for the American rounds of Laguna Seca and Indianapolis.

The American has been linked with a full-time MotoGP move for 2009 and he will have his hands full at Donington, lacking both circuit knowledge and experience on the Suzuki GSV-R.
