Toro Rosso team manager moves to Ferrari
Massimo Rivola will in 2009 leave his post as Toro Rosso's team manager to accept an offer from the reigning constructors' champions Ferrari.

Rivola is now to be in charge of Ferrari's sporting activity and logistics. He will be replaced as team manager at Toro Rosso from within by Gianfranco Fantuzzi.

Massa opposed to driver wage cuts
2008 championship runner-up Felipe Massa has dismissed suggestions that F1 teams' drive to cut costs should involve reducing driver salaries. "In a competitive sport like this, the driver plays a fundamental part, and the cost of the drivers are small compared to the total budget," he said during a press conference in Brazil.

Massa is believed to earn about $11m, which is dwarfed by the at least $30m earned by his teammate, the 2007 champion Kimi Raikkonen, who finished this year's championship in third place.

Schu's Ferrari role not guaranteed beyond 2009
Discussions with Michael Schumacher will take place during 2009 to decide if his contract with Ferrari is to be renewed, team boss Stefano Domenicali has revealed.

Schumacher has served as an occasional test driver, ambassador and advisor. But whether he will continue his roles beyond next year is to be the subject of discussions. Schumacher will remain involved with the F1 team and Ferrari's road car department in 2009.

Irvine says Raikkonen facing Ferrari sack
Former Ferrari racer Eddie Irvine believes the Italian team should sack Kimi Raikkonen or slash his pay if the Finn fails to perform in 2009. "If you're the highest paid you have to be the best and he's not doing the job, simple as that," the Ulsterman told Virgin Media.

It is believed Massa, just one point shy of winning the 2008 drivers' championship, earns only one third of Raikkonen's Ferrari retainer.
