Due to unseasonably warm temperatures this week in the Twin Cities area and a forecast for more of the same, next weekend's WPSA PowerSports Snowmobile Tour Air Force Canterbury Snocross has been rescheduled. The event will take place March 3-4 at the Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minn.

Additionally, the PowerSports Snowmobile Tour has added a National Snocross event that will be held Jan. 12-14 at Brainerd International Raceway. The Brainerd race will be a double header and will feature Pro finals on both Saturday and Sunday, with Pro qualifying on Friday.

"Recent weather in the high 40s and low 50s has severely hampered our snowmaking capability at Canterbury Park, and our only choice was to reschedule the event to avoid further weather-related issues," said PowerSports Entertainment, Inc. Executive Vice President of Operations Kent Lungstrom. "Our snowmaking crew and track builders at Canterbury Park did all they could to pull this off. We apologize to our fans, but unfortunately, we can control everything but the weather."

"Brainerd has long been a partner to our Minnesota Regional Tour, and it will be ready to host an exciting and competitive National Championship Snocross racing weekend," said Scott O'Malley, PowerSports Entertainment, Inc. president. "We're also looking forward to returning to Canterbury Park on March 3-4 and our snowmaking crew is standing by to ensure a colossal track for the March rescheduled event."
