WPSA: Jones and Yokley win Jack Link's Feed Your Wild Side ATV championship

7-9-2006

by Flagworld

"No one was giving an inch in that race," said Yokley, who moved to just four points behind Daryl Rath (No. 67 Rath Racing, Maxxis, Douglas Wheels/Arctic Cat) in the Riders' Championship. "I just made a silly move in the logs and it played out. I laid back and waited for my lucky break. I took third, and I picked out my spot to take the lead. Luckily, it all worked out. I was planning to finish the season out, and now, if I keep winning races, there is no way on earth I'm going to quit!"

Suzuki padded its points lead in the SuperQuad Pro 450 Manufacturers' Championship and now holds a four-point lead ahead of Honda. Suzuki closed to within three points behind QuadTerrain Challenge manufacturers' points leader Arctic Cat.

Results from Saturday's races are available by clicking here, and updated points files can be downloaded here. Both reports are also available at www.PowerSportsTour.com.

Saturday's race will be telecast on ESPN2 on Saturday, July 15 at noon EDT. The PowerSports ATV Championship Tour will complete its double championship weekend here tomorrow, with racing beginning a noon. A full slate of Pro racing, including qualifying and finals is on tap, as well as finals for the Amateur, Youth and Women's classes.
