Chester, Vermont resident Chris Chico today became the first rider to register at Hay Days for the 2006-2007 WPSA PowerSports Snowmobile Tour season.

Chico will ride the No. 311 Polaris in the Semi-Pro Stock and Open classes this season on both the Rock Maple Racing regional circuit, as well as four National events.

Chico, who has competed in Motocross and Snocross racing since he was four, is in his 14th year of competition. Among his many accolades are three New England State Championships as well as eight national championships.

"I graduated from high school this year, so now I'm planning to focus on my racing career full time this season," said Chico. "We have a great sponsor in Polaris. The team is second to none and they treat us great. This should be an exciting year for me. We're looking for positive results with our eyes on competing full time nationally on the 2007-2008 Tour."

The Tour officially opened National race entries today at Hay Days today. Online registration is also available at www.PowerSportsTour.com. Tour officials will also continue taking membership and race entry registration at Hay Days through tomorrow.

The first race on the 2006-2007 WPSA PowerSports Snowmobile Tour season is scheduled for Nov. 24-26, 2006 with the AMSOIL Duluth National at Spirit Mountain in Duluth, Minn.
