Fiat Yamaha's Valentino Rossi completed the Le Mans post-race testing with the best time on the second day. The last French Grand Prix winner concentrated his work on tyre testing for Bridgestone and new settings on his bike.

World champion Casey Stoner was second quickest after his Ducati team decided to end their session early in order not to damage any more engines following the discovery of a faulty component.

The Ducati team have identified the cause of Casey Stoner's engine failure during Sunday's French Grand Prix at Le Mans, the faulty component had been identified at their factory, although no furthers details were provided.
