RS Venture GT
This year, the showstopper at Yamaha is without question the all-new RS Venture GT. Always looking to have the last word, the manufacturer borrowed the famous Deltabox II chassis from the high-performance Apex. Therefore, ergonomics are significantly improved, with a higher, more forward-oriented riding position allowing optimum control for the rider and freeing up room for the passenger. Rider fatigue is also reduced.

This snowmobile is powered by the famous Genesis 120 three-cylinder engine. Surprisingly, it now features electronic fuel injection with three 41-mm throttle bodies. As a result, output is up by 6 horsepower and fuel efficiency is improved. Meanwhile, the larger stator cranks out an additional 70 watts of electrical power.

Other models
Traditional snowmobile enthusiasts will be happy to know that the old chassis is still available with the touring model. The base RS Venture is designed for those after an affordable sled offering a classic, user-friendly riding experience. Please note that in order to reduce production costs and maintain competitive prices, Yamaha decided to keep the good old carburetors.

We also had the chance to see an entirely revamped and successfully styled Phazer. For 2009, Apex, Phazer and Vector models all sport new colors and a few minor enhancements. Meanwhile, the 2-stroke multi-purpose VK540 and Bravo250 models are still on the menu.

Once again, Yamaha is moving forward and challenging the competition. The new 2009 RS Venture GT is certainly a serious contender for the title of "Best Touring Snowmobile of the Year."
