For once, it was hot and sunny out there! On my way to work, I got next to a couple of cars and three big custom bikes in a long tunnel. Of course, as if they just couldn’t help it, the three morons riding the big bikes decided, in turn, to let the whole world know how much they’re proud of their modified and noisy exhaust systems.

As far as I am concerned, causing deliberate and unjustified noise shows a flagrant lack of civility. Even worse, they willfully did it inside a tunnel, without any respect whatsoever for those around them. Motorcyclists as a group (and an integral part of society) have enough image issues already; we certainly do not need to create new ones.

Out of the tunnel, I made my way through traffic and caught up with this trio of idiots. Usually, when a rider acts like that in front of my house, I throw stones at him. Well, for lack of stones, I raised my arm up, clenched my fist and gave them a solid finger… just to let them know they were "number one" in my heart!

So, if you’re sick and tired as I am of these disturbing straight pipes, I encourage you to do the same thing -- give them the finger to show how much you appreciate their act. Instead of waving a friendly hand, you’ll be sending a clear message: "You’re a moron, so go back to your home in Moronland!"
