Honda Canada has revealed more details about the new CRF1000L Africa Twin, which will arrive at Canadian dealerships next spring and is thoroughly equipped for true adventure like its celebrated forerunners.

As far as the engine is concerned, the Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin gets a liquid-cooled, 998cc, 4-stroke, parallel twin-cylinder based on the CRF250R/450R engine. It is mated to a standard 6-speed manual transmission featuring an assist slipper clutch. Honda’s unique dual-clutch transmission will be available as an option; it offers a manual mode and two automatic modes.

Look for a range of 400 kilometres thanks to this fuel-efficient engine and big 18.8L tank.

The Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin chassis is designed around the same three key attributes as the original Honda XRB750 including off-road performance, touring comfort, and agility. There’s a long-travel Showa inverted fork, Nissin brakes with 4-piston callipers, as well as 21” front and 18” rear wheels.

Pricing has yet to be announced.
