Honda's Africa Twin is back for 2016 with CRF1000L

5-14-2015

by Josée Paquet , moto123.com

Attention, adventure-bike enthusiasts: The Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin will join the lineup as a 2016 model, the Japanese manufacturer has confirmed.

Similar to the original XRV650 Africa Twin that was launched in 1988 after the first three of Honda's four consecutive wins in the Paris-Dakar rally, the 2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin promises go-anywhere ability, rugged durability, easy-handling agility, and all-day comfort. It also offers the option of Honda’s next-generation Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT)—a first in the segment. This latest evolution has been specifically developed and programmed for off-road use.

At the moment, we don't know which engine will power the 2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin. Pricing and on-sale dates will also be announced later.
