OK, you are getting every ounce of performance out of your S1000RR, and 193 horses is simply not enough any more – Y’a gotta do something about the power, Man!

Well here’s some excellent news, as the Munich Magicians have just released something just for you – if you ride exclusively on a track that is.

A new BMW Motorrad HP Race Power Kit features a revised ECU and an Akrapovic exhaust system, to increase peak power and torque, as well as optimize engine, braking and power management systems for short circuit riding and racing.

Based on the technology developed by the BMW SBK team and Ayrton Badovini’s 2010 FIM Superstock 1000 championship-winning bike, this kit delivers the goods:
  • Maximum engine output increased by 4bhp and 6lb.ft to 197bhp and 88.5 lb.ft with torque significantly increased from 5000 to 9000 rpm
  • Full power at greater lean angles from all four engine management modes
  • Reduced engine braking
  • A pit-lane speed limiter
  • An Akrapovic titanium and carbon-fibre full exhaust system (6.8kg lighter than stock) with removable baffle
An HP Calibration Kit, due later in the year, will allow further customization of the settings and modes – tricky business indeed.

The kit, available in England for about $4000Cdn, brings the bike closer to a true racer, by gradually eliminating the electronic features that make the S1000RR the safest bike on the road but prevent Pro-level racers from extracting the maximum from the machine.

Faster but less safe, not what a street rider needs, but heaven for real racers (Say less than ten racers in Canada).

Word is that the kit will be available in Canada this September.
