Pirelli has again put in place a massive organisation to handle the incredible number of tyres required for the trip of the SBK and SS circuses to the opening race of the 2006 season in Qatar.

Pirelli will be providing over 4,000 tyres for use in the SBK and SS test sessions and races in Qatar. 300 of these were delivered with the batch of 1200 sent out for the winter test sessions; 3,500 were sent in mid-January in two sea-going containers; another 300 are due to arrive by air.

Interestingly enough, fewer tyres will be provided this year than last year. This is because more thorough testing has allowed Pirelli to eliminate some solutions, and include only those proven to be valid for the race. Last year, testing was left until the weekend before the race itself.
