Mecaglisse will host two world-class championships in August, the Can/Am Supermoto and the North American Trials.
SupermotoNorth America's finest riders will take on the Europeans for the 2009 Can/Am Supermoto Championship event held at the Mecaglisse facilities on August 1 and 2. The best Canadian and American racers of the sport will rub shoulders with three French drivers for the occasion.
Canadian champion Maxime Sylvestre (KTM, Picotte Performance) will defend his title against Johnny Lewis, the American champion of the 2008 Supermoto X Fest.
In the European corner, Adrien Goguet, 2008 Champion de France S2 will ride a KTM machine prepared by Picotte Performance. Also expected are Sylvain Bidart (450 2008 Champion de France) and Thomas Vascheure (250 2008 Champion de France), both on Hondas.
TrialsThe last two rounds of NAMU's (North American Motorcycle Union) North American Trials Championship will be raced on the same days on Mecaglisse's dedicated track.
In trials, riders must climb and cross complicated traps without setting a foot down or stopping. Their spectacular acrobatics will be sure to surprise and delight the crowd during this unusual festival.
Fifty seasoned trialists are expected for the event.
