Spring is here... and urban scooters are back!

5-5-2008

by Amyot Bachand , moto123.com

Now that snow has finally melted, riders of all ages are taking their 50-cc scooters out of the garage to run their errands and resume their busy lifestyles. In 2008, 2-stroke engines will continue to disappear; they'll be replaced by more environmentally-friendly 4-stroke powerplants. Manufacturers are also adding 125-cc models to their urban lineups in order to meet the needs of adult riders who want a bit more power for suburban riding.

Kymco Super9

Classic styling still dominates, but we're seeing a growing number of big-wheel machines like Kymco's People 50 and 125. The popular BW's from Yamaha is once again available, but we're more interested in watching the debut of the C3 -- and the classic Peugeot Vivacity50 (imported by CMI) for that matter. Manufacturers are now looking to make their 50-cc scooters more distinctive than ever with vivid colors and custom accessories, as evidenced by the PGO Metro series.

The selection is amazing. Here is the complete list of 2008 urban scooters available in Canada:
