Motorcycling enthusiasts across Quebec are mourning the loss of Philippe Durand, founder and co-owner of Euromoto, in Laval, following a snowmobile crash on February 19.

Philippe, his wife Line and their two sons aged 11 and 14 were riding on the frozen surface of Lac des Deux-Montagnes on two machines, when the ice suddenly gave way and swallowed the parents’ sled. The kids came to their rescue, but the ice once again collapsed when all four riders tried to leave the scene on the other snowmobile. The younger son managed to save his mom and brother with the help of Philippe, who then disappeared in the cold waters of the lake.

A dedicated technician, racer and Italian motorcycle aficionado, Philippe founded Euromoto along with his wife Line and his business partner Pascal Anctil.

The entire team at Moto123.com would like to express its deepest sympathies to Philippe’s family, friends and colleagues.
