Montreal's Olympic Stadium is set to host the 35th edition of the Monster Energy Supermotocross on September 29th. American rider Matt Goerke will return to defend the 450cc (MX1) title he captured in 2011. So far this year, he's thrashing the competition with 16 wins in 18 starts. Teddy Maier and Bobby Kiniry probably have the best shot at ruining his day.
Among the Canadians who can put a stop to Goerke’s stellar season are Dusty Klatt, who clinched CMRC MX1 titles in 2009 and 2010, and Tyler Medaglia, who has now fully recovered from his injuries suffered in St. Julie and will return to action at the Monster Energy Supermotocross.
Fans attending the event will be treated to a full night of competition that will include the International ATV Race featuring class champions Richard Pelchat, Chad Wienen, John Natalie and Josh Creamer, as well as the North American Side-by-Side Finale with Patrick Carpentier making his series debut.
Some of the world's top FMX riders including Nate Adams, Adam Jones and Quebec’s Ben Milot will also compete in the primetime Freestyle contest.
In MX2 class (for Canadian riders only), Tim Tremblay, Kaven Benoît and Jeremy Medaglia will put on a show from start to finish. To top it off this year, there will be the Monster Energy Super Finale where the top finishers in the MX2 finale will face the best MX1 riders in a winner-takes-all race.
You can purchase your tickets by phone (1-855-790-1245) or at participating motorcycle dealers (full list on
montrealmotocross.com/en). Prices range from $15 to $60. All ticket holders will be granted access to the Montreal Off-Road Show on Saturday.
