Polaris Industries Inc. today announced the acquisition of Indian Motorcycle. And while the terms of the transaction have yet to be disclosed, the American snowmobile and ATV giant (which also builds Victory bikes) looks fully committed to giving the motorcycling icon a bright new future.

With our technology and vision, we are confident we will deliver the classic Indian motorcycle, enhanced by the quality and performance for which Polaris and Victory are known.”

The Indians will nicely complete Polaris' road lineup and provide a new weapon to lure buyers away from other leading makes. This is pretty much a match made in American heaven, one that will please legions of enthusiasts.
