Harley-Davidson recalls 4,759 bikes in Canada

by Josée Paquet ,

Harley-Davidson is recalling 4,759 motorcycles from the 2014 model year in Canada to correct a problem with the braking system.

On certain motorcycles with anti-lock brakes (ABS), the front brake line may have been pinched between the fuel tank and the frame at time of assembly or during subsequent servicing. This could cause front brake fluid pressure to increase while riding, potentially resulting in an unexpected front wheel lockup that could result in a loss of control and a crash.

Harley-Davidson dealers will inspect the brake lines and replace them as necessary while also installing additional retention devices.

Affected models include:
  • CVO Road King (FLHRSE);
  • CVO Ultra Limited (FLHTKSE);
  • Electra Glide Ultra Classic (FLHTCU);
  • Police Electra Glide (FLHTP);
  • Police Road King (FLHP);
  • Road King (FLHR);
  • Street Glide (FLHX);
  • Street Glide Special (FLHXS);
  • Street Glide Special Shrine (FLHXSHRINE);
  • Ultra Limited (FLHTK);
  • Ultra Limited Shrine (FLHTKSHRINE)
