Enough is enough!

To vanquish without peril impresses no one
The charming president of the SAAQ, Mr John Harbour, will be stepping down when his contract comes to an end this year, and he has no intention of seeking another term. During an interview, Mr Harbour admitted that he thought he was being underpaid, considering his abilities. According to his own estimate, his performance at the head of the SAAQ would earn him at least $500,000/year in the private sector.

Explain to me, Mr Harbour, how a person that in no way contributes to the province’s wealth and who lives off the SAAQ can demand such high pay? Those who create wealth, Mr Harbour, who increase the value of products and who export them are the true great performers. Quebec prospers thanks to the money that enters the province. What you and your peers, great public servants that you are, actually do, is take the wealth from those that created it through their work and redistribute it to those who sit around on both hands doing nothing, while keeping a share for your salaries and bonuses.

It’s easy, Mr Harbour, to get good results when you’re at the head of a monopoly as essential as it is mandatory, where your decrees are in no way justified by real life. I can’t wait to see how you’ll manage in the public sector.

Good luck!

Three-wheelers – are they motorcycles or not?
A few weeks ago, our priceless Minister of Transport decided that Bombardier’s three-wheeler, the Can-Am Spyder, could be ridden with a car license as long as the user had taken a seven-hour training course on the use of three-wheel machines.

The three-wheel motorcycle is as old as the motorcycle – maybe even older. Sidecars and trikes have long been travelling on our roads and have always been considered motorcycles, as are motorcycles transformed into trikes. Then, suddenly, after the SAAQ conducted a so-called study of the Spyder case, the winds change. Apparently, the Spyder isn’t any more dangerous than a car.

Where does this decision come from? Are you ompromising public safety to help Bombardier peddle its contraption (as my grandmother used to say)? Simply unconscionable.

Minister, the day a Spyder is involved in an accident, will motorcyclists or motorists have to pay the price, according to their type of license? Explain to me how a tricycle derived from a motorcycle is not as dangerous and the original bike? Whether it’s a Spyder, a trike, a one- or two-wheel-drive side-car, a three-wheel ATV, which has by the way been deemed illegal due to its instability, or a motorcycle, THE DANGER IS THE SAME!

Caveat
Dear readers, Freedom is not a gift one receives, but the result of a fierce battle that must be waged every single day. If you aren’t outraged by our government’s behaviour, go back to taking your Prozac.

Those that are outraged have a choice: either get your own Prozac prescription, or take up arms and defend YOUR Freedom.
