Low Boy creator Duc Dufour will be enshrined into the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame on November 3rd, 2012. The ceremony will take place at the Delta Centre-Ville hotel in Montreal.

Dufour died in a motorcycle crash in Labrador last year.

He began his career in the 1960s by competing in a wide range of regional competitions – motocross, enduro, trial and hill climb. Then, he became the general manager of the new Harley-Davidson dealership in Montreal.

Around the mid-'80s, Dufour designed the famous Low Boy with Quebec riders in mind. Willi G. Davidson, of Harley-Davidson USA, later used this motorcycle as inspiration for the Fat Boy.

“Duc was a great innovator, competitor, organizer, adventurer and a roving ambassador, and his motorcycling creations clearly influenced the North American marketplace,” notes Hall of Fame Chair Kellee Irwin. “Duc was well loved and respected, he was a walking motorcycling encyclopedia, and his discipline, professionalism and passion for motorcycles and motorcycling will long be remembered by his friends and colleagues.”
