A little rain never hurt anyone, unless you absolutely have to bring a couple of bikes back by 8am, and we are in the middle of a Florida monsoon. We got back to Triumph in time, and the bikes ran fine in the wet - no more Prince of Darkness ignition from Lucas! The 900 motor has gained in smoothness with fuel injection since its birth, and it is a joy to ride. I tooled around slowly, and it sips gas, another benefits of this well thought out engine.
Both bikes, but especially the Bonnie, were a picture of smoothness and capable behaviour. Pascal "The Kid" Bastien preferred the Scrambler, with semi knobbies that work great in the rain, and the optional Arrow exhaust system.
The sun is almost out, it is around 13 ºC, and I am in dry clothes again, so we are off on the V-Rod and the Fat Boy Lo.
Back tomorrow to tell you more about those two machines, and stand by for racing news. It all starts tomorrow in preparation for the AMA Superbike and Daytona 200 races.
