The Montreal rider dodged a bullet today, in Stage 10 of 14 of this 9000 km torture test, after a few nasty moments in rocky terrain.
Trahan made a small error when following a few competitors who ended up off the track, and fell while trying to get back on the correct trail. At the end of the day, Trahan was scored in 60th place overall, out of 93 riders still in the race. Still in there and looking for a finish.
Frenchman über-rider Cyril Despres still leads the bike category, with one hour and 20 minutes in hand over second place man and fellow KTM rider Pal Anders Ullevalseter. Chilean Aprilia rider Francisco Lopez Contardo is third, only three minutes behind the second place man, with Yamaha Portugal rider Helder Rodrigues a further 7 minutes behind. This fight for second place will go down to the last day, with local rider Lopez Contardo favoured because of his local knowledge.
Only four more days to go!
