Buell Motorcycle Company today introduced the 1125RR, a race-only Superbike.
|
Buell did not supply pictures of the 1125RR. Here is the best shot we have of Steve Crevier aboard a 2009 1125R prepared for the Superbike class of the Part Canada Superbike Championship. |
The Buell 1125RR features:
· The 1125cc Helicon Powertrain:
- 103 mm bore and 67.5mm stroke
· Dual 61mm down-draft fuel-injection throttle bodies
· Titanium exhaust header and mass-centralized muffler
· 6-Spoke cast magnesium racing wheels
- Front: 3.5 x 17 inch
- Rear: 6 x 17 inch
· Buell ZTL2 reversed rotor front brake, with eight-piston Nissin caliper
· 43mm Showa fully-adjustable inverted fork
· Showa fully-adjustable rear shock with remote reservoir
· Cast-aluminum swingarm machined with billet axle adjustment system
Buell will produce a limited number of 1125RR Superbikes for sale only to licensed professional road racers who compete in the AMA Pro Racing American Superbike class. The U.S. MSRP is $39,995.
No word on availability in Canada or eligibility of the bike for the Parts Canada Superbike Championship. Here's betting that we will see at least one being raced in Canada, and hoping that Steve Crevier will ride it, either later this season or in 2010.
More Harleys on track means more people in the grandstands and on TV - Good stuff!
