BMW Motorrad Canada makes a first foray into the scooter market by introducing the all-new 2012 C600 Sport and C650GT.

As the name suggests, the BMW C600 Sport targets sporty riders after a dynamic riding position. Meanwhile, the BMW C650GT's higher handlebars and adjustable backrest make it ideal for those who focus on comfort and touring capability.

Both of these luxury scooters exploit a liquid-cooled 647cc twin-cylinder rated at 60 hp and 48.7 lb-ft of torque. The engine teams up with a directly integrated CVT transmission featuring an automatic centrifugal clutch as well as a maintenance-free secondary chain drive running in an oil bath.

The contrast in styling is quite striking. The C600 Sport (available in blue, silver, or black) banks on limited fairings to expose its sporty character. On the other hand, the more covered C650GT (available in black, bronze, or red) provides greater protection against the elements.

Anti-theft and tire pressure monitoring systems as well as heated grips and seat are listed as factory options with both the BMW C600 Sport and C650GT.

Pricing will be announced next spring.
