Aprilia makes quite an impact with the 2014 Tuono V4R APRC ABS. These last three letters were the only missing piece to rank among the most technologically advanced naked bikes in the world. Riders also benefit from 8-level traction control, anti-wheeling, and gear shift assist for clutchless shifts.
BMW showcases all its German expertise with the hot new
S1000R, derived from the Canadian Superbike Championship-winning S1000RR. Don't miss the all-new
R1200RT and
R nineT, as well as the updated K1600GTL.
Ducati presents a limited edition of the 1199 Panigale called Superleggera, an all-new
Monster 1200 with a liquid-cooled twin-cylinder, and the
899 Panigale which replaces the outgoing 848 EVO. With 148 horsepower and a chassis derived from the 1199, expect this latest machine to be much easier to ride on the road and on the track.
Harley-Davidson expands its cruiser lineup with the new Street 500 and Street 750, which will attract a different type of customer with a liquid-cooled, 60-degree V-twin inspired by the V-Rod. Also, check out the revised Touring models and their air/liquid-cooled V-twin.
Honda enters 2014 with one of its largest contingents of new models ever including the
Valkyrie,
Grom,
CBR1000RR SP,
CTX1300, CBR650F, and VFR800F.
Indian Motorcycles breaks through the Canadian market with three new cruisers: the
2014 Indian Chief Classic,
Indian Chieftain, and
Indian Chief Vintage. Custom retro styling has seldom looked sleeker.
Kawasaki pushes the performance envelope with the new Z1000 ABS and
Ninja 1000 ABS. The latter gets the acclaimed
Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) system pioneered by the 2011 Ninja ZX-10R superbike. Unlike the ZX, however, the Ninja 1000 offers two rider-selectable modes instead of three.
KTM is stunning the world with the
1290 Super Duke R, the most powerful street fighter on the planet with a liquid-cooled V-twin that cranks out 180 horsepower at 8,890 rpm. Of course, make sure you take a look at the dirt bike lineup including the restyled 690 Enduro R.
Lito Green Motion will use the 2014 Montreal Motorcycle Show to launch Sora, the first Quebec-built electric motorcycle.
Moto Guzzi has updated the
V7 family, which consists of three members: V7 Special, V7 Stone, and V7 Racer. They all use a 744cc 90-degree V-twin that's mated to a 5-speed transmission with shaft final drive. And behold the colossal California 1400.
MV Agusta has equipped the F3 with ABS, and two new sport bikes make their debut: the F3 800 and
Rivale 800 ABS (powered by a triple-cylinder engine).
Suzuki arrives with the new
V-Strom 1000 ABS (an iron butt's dream) and the small, city-oriented GW250 (featuring a parallel twin-cylinder engine).
Triumph bolsters its cruiser range with the 2014 Thunderbird 1700 LT, 1700 Commander, and retro-looking America LT. Classic models receive a few cosmetic upgrades.
Victory unleashes the sinister Gunner, not to mention a pair of new baggers: the Cross Country 8-Ball and Cross Roads 8-Ball.
Yamaha delivers a true streetfighter in the form of the new, triple-cylinder
FZ-09, plus a back-to-basics cruiser named
Bolt. What's more, the
FJR1300 is now available with an automatic transmission.
