The 2014 Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra LX is once again powered by a 1,498cc, 4-stroke, inline 4-cylinder engine. Derived from the Ninja superbikes, this fuel-injected unit produces 158 hp (160 PS) at 7,750 rpm and 112 lb-ft of torque at 7,250 rpm. At 423 kg, however, the Ultra LX boasts a lower power-to-weight ratio than its competitors.

Driving a 155mm jet pump with a 3-blade impeller, the engine delivers good fuel economy and benefits from a best-in-class 78-litre tank to keep you riding for a seriously long time.

By the way, it's the same engine that powers the cheaper, lighter Kawasaki Jet Ski STX-15F. On the other hand, if you're looking for greater performance, the 310X/310LX models (formerly 300X/300LX) add a supercharger and intercooler to generate an industry-leading 306 hp (310 PS, hence the name) and 201 lb-ft of torque. Yeah, that's insane, I know.

Meanwhile, the race-derived hull of the 2014 Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra LX gives you the ideal balance of strength and light weight designed to handle both rough and calm water conditions.
