A new chapter in the quest for horsepower will open when the 2012 Kawasaki ZX-14R hits dealerships. The manufacturer says it’ll be the most powerful production motorcycle ever and the one that sets the most blistering acceleration pace of all.

It’ll tip the scales at 584.4 lb or 265 kg, making it slightly heavier than the outgoing model.

Style-wise, the 2012 ZX-14R will be very similar to the 2011, though in actuality it has been almost completely redesigned. Whether the suspension, brakes or handling, absolutely nothing has been left up to chance.

Thanks to all these improvements, this Kawasaki will launch a direct assault on fearsome rivals such as the Yamaha VMAX and Suzuki Hayabusa.
