First launched in 2009 in Taiwan, the Sento 50i has been restyled in 2012, and the changes are both of a practical and technological nature. This retro-style runabout with a modern touch features a revamped 49 cc single cylinder, injection-fueled and air-cooled engine.

At the technical level, the fuel injection system has been revised to make the new Kymco Sento 50i 2012 even more thrifty while satisfying CEPA environmental standards. Start-up should be more lively. Although 12” wheels were originally planned for, the final 10” wheels with aluminum rims are better suited to this scooter and replacement tires are readily available.

The ventilated front disc brake relies on a double piston caliper. The fuel cap has been relocated, making it easier to fill the redesigned 5-litre gas tank.

The handlebars incorporate the headlight plus simple but sufficient instrumentation for city driving. With its wheelbase of 1,195 mm, flat floor and a seat height that lets you easily place your feet on the ground, the Sento 50i should be the ideal fit for beginners and a snap to handle.

Aesthetic side
The Sento 50i’s designers have restyled the front, giving it a more serious air, but keeping its classic looks. LED sidelights and indicators also set the tone. The back of the Kymco Sento 50i 2012 is similar to the Yamaha Vino, while the front makes you think of the Vespa: a nice mix that works well. Sento 50i is offered in four contemporary colours that give it a hip, young, urban look: blazing red, brilliant blue, black jade and metallic bronze.

Practical side
The long textured seat means better comfort for driver and an occasional passenger. The seating material is new and seems to offer better support and comfort on a sunny day.

There’s now more underseat storage space, thanks to the new fuel tank. Kymco also added a compartment under the handlebars where you can put smaller items or a small bag.
