Since the introduction of the new IQ chassis in 2005, the constant evolution of Polaris snowmobiles has been nothing short of impressive, not to mention their quality levels. The company is at it again for 2010. Say hello to the hard-working 600 Widetrak IQ and the 600 Rush built on the revolutionary new Pro Ride chassis.

The 2-stroke, 4-injector, twin-cylinder Cleanfire CF14 engine (two injectors at cruising speeds, four under acceleration) produces 125 horsepower and uses the new P2 clutch system (lighter than P1). Along with the IQ chassis, this successful combination offers the best of both worlds: rugged capability for heavy duties on one hand and nimble handling for off-trail sporty riding on the other.

The versatility of the 600 Widetrak IQ is also emphasized by its dash-mounted, lever-actuated, Hi/Low transmission. "Low" makes taking off and modulating the throttle easier, while "Hi" slightly increases top speed and drops the engine revs for greater fuel economy.

Polaris did a good job of endowing its workhorse with innovative features such as a removable work light and a heated glove box. Additionally, the new 600 Widetrak IQ gets a large storage compartment, dual mirrors, rugged bumpers, a trailer hitch, an adjustable backrest and a tall windshield.

The IQ Independent Front Suspension (IFS) boasts Nitrex shocks and Gripper skis that are renowned for their excellent floatation. In the back, the Utility Tripped Rear (UTR) suspension, derived from mountain-oriented RMK models, incorporates articulated sliders which facilitate reverse in deep snow and improve handling on twisty trails.
