2010 Polaris ATV Lineup Preview

12-18-2009

by Pascal Bastien , moto123.com

Beyond styling, Polaris worked really hard to improve every aspect of the machine:
  •  A more compact CVT gearbox and a lighter under-seat battery mean a 6 kg weight loss and better fore and aft weight distribution
  •  An extra 30 mm of front track, and lower profile tires mounted on 12in. rims, rather than the 10in. rims on previous models
  •  A longer travel rear suspension
  •  A combined front-rear braking system operated either by the foot or hand lever
  •  A redesigned seat with extra padding and a higher-mounted handlebar, for greater comfort whether sitting or standing
  •  A larger, 15 L fuel tank (up from 13 L) and gauge
It looks like Polaris listened to user complaints and created an all-new Scrambler 4X4 that’s better in every way, in addition to giving it an improved drivetrain. Superior comfort and trail riding dynamics for years to come – Sounds good from where we sit!

A naked view of the new, longer XP chassis, with the drive train mounted longitudinally. Sure makes for a narrow machine!

New Trail Boss and Trail Blazer
Completely redesigned for 2010, the entry-level Trail Boss 330 and Trail Blazer 330 sport a fresh new face. While their drive train is nearing obsolescence, both models remain excellent choices for amateurs on a tighter budget and looking for fun times in the woods.

An electric Ranger, plus a 455cc model
Polaris is releasing the industry’s first side-by-side ATV powered by an electric motor. The 2010 Ranger EV thus becomes the cleanest and quietest utility ATV on the market. We’re already lobbying to get our hands on this hot new model and tell you all about it.

For work and fun at a low price, the company offers a new, compact Ranger 400. Powered by a liquid-cooled 455-cc single-cylinder engine, this newcomer to the side-by-side family is poised to take on the Rhino 450, Kymco UXV 500 and other similar entry-level utility products.

An exciting 2010 lineup despite tough economic times
Polaris is making a bold move by introducing a host of new products for 2010. That is a clear sign that they want to remain one of the top players in the game over the coming years. A short test-ride of any Polaris ATV based on the new XP chassis should be enough to convince you of that fact.
