2010 Supermoto X Fest at Mecaglisse - A better and better show every year!

8-11-2010

Power sliding enthusiasts enjoyed a great three days of sideways racing at the 2010 Supermoto X Fest, held at the Circuit Mecaglisse in Notre-Dame-de-la-Merci, this past weekend. This world-class Supermoto and Superquad track combines technical paved sections with high-speed corners on dirt, and 3-metre high jumps, where riders and their machines can showcase all their skills, power and mettle. The unique layout allows spectators to see all of the track from several locations, as well as get up close to the intense action in the corners.

Two major series were part of the program. The Canadian and Eastern North American Supermoto Championship (ENAC) attracted 90 racers from Quebec, Ontario and the United States, and the Canadian Superquad Championship added to the show with their 28 four-wheelers.

The finals became intense battles between two riders, Ontario’s Dave Arnold and Quebec’s Maxime Sylvestre, last year’s overall winner.

Sylvestre had a great day once again, staging a spectacular comeback to win the Prestige final, which pits the top three riders in each class on the same starting grid, and in reverse stating order. In the Pro Open final, Sylvestre made the most of a mistake by Arnold to pass him for the lead and cruise to the finish line in first place, in front of an enthusiastic crowd.

Two female racers, Danielle Hine (U.S.) and Marylène Croft (Que), decided to take on the boys and spice up the show. We look forward to seeing many more of you on track in 2011!

Superquad
Mathieu Robitaille reached the top of the podium in the Quad Pro-Am class, and Guillaume Trudel won the Quad Pro Open class by masterfully drifting his way to the finish.

The Supermoto X Fest keeps getting bigger and better every year, with more riders, more activities, greater manufacturer involvement and, of course, a lot more fans.

See you in 2011!
