14th Salon National du Quad (video)

10-31-2008

by Marc Cantin , moto123.com

Great news from the 14th Salon National du Quad which opens it's doors today, Friday October 31, at Place Forzani in Laval, QC.

Great news indeed, as Quebec government official have just confirmed that laws will be amended to allow two-up riding on Quad that were originally intended for solo riding only, given certain conditions which will be detailed at a later date. Such special conditions are likely to include specific training for drivers, as well as relevant signage on the trails.

Naturally, visitors will also see virtually all the Quads on the market, as well as accessories and related associations and services - everything you need to know to get the most out of your Quad.

New models naturally share the limelight, such as the Bombardier Outlander Max 800, which is delivered "Fully Dressed" with the accessories required for two-up riding as well as heated grips, a windshield and alloy wheels. The new Outlander Max 500 comes with a new V-Twin engine, for improved power and throttle response, as well as lower vibrations than the previous single cylinder model.

Electric Power Steering is clearly the "Big Thing" for 2009, and several models have just been announced with this feature as standard.

The Yamaha Grizzly 550 also features selectable 2- or 4-Wheel drive, independent suspension in all four corners for better ride, stability and traction, and a larger fuel tank for a longer range.

Suzuki presents the KingQuad 500, with Power Steering and torsion bar suspension for improved stability and a smoother ride.

Honda features the Canadian version of the new TRX420, also with power steering, but also with greater suspension travel than the non-Canada model, for improved comfort and safety on our terrain.

Better yet, visitors will be able to try out the machines on a special test track behind Place Forzani.

Opening hours are:
  • Friday, October 31, from 2 to 10pm
  • Saturday, November 1, from 10am to 10pm
  • Sunday, November 2, from 10am to 5pm
