A few corners later, a long stretch allows you to hit almost 190 km/h, where the 335is’s delicious throatiness is at its height. The folks at BMW have crafted a true symphony in piston major.
It becomes obvious after a few laps that the 335is, both manual and automatic, is like its almost twin sister: a true joy to handle. More powerful though, it responds easily to demands and gives the impression of driving a veritable little
M3.
There is a But
But… there is a but. Canadian pricing is still unknown, but in US dollars the 335is version will set you back nearly $7,000 more than the regular 335i. The question begs to be asked: is the “is” worth the investment?
Honestly, despite its sporty qualities, I doubt it. It seems more like a marketing ploy concocted by the folks at BMW North America and designed to fill the small gap between the expensive M3 and the more affordable 335i.
That being said, as marketing ploys go, the 335is is a very enjoyable one to drive.
