2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder Review

12-27-2010

by Lacey Elliott , Auto123.com

The engine snarls, particularly with the sports exhaust.

Handling is incredibly accurate and cornering is definitely a strong point. The brakes are powerful. You feel planted and secure at all speeds. Acceleration is effortless and with the mid-engine placement, balance is incredible.

The Boxster Sypder is an amazingly hot roadster. It is a Boxster with styling that screams Porsche, and with added flare to it. (Lacey Elliott/Auto123.com)

As with most convertibles, vision out the back and the sides is obstructed with the top up. The humps on the side make shoulder checking almost pointless.

So what would I pick, the Spyder or the the Boxster S?

This decision is a tough one for me. This Spyder looks and feels incredible, but the manual canvas roof is a complete pain in the butt to put up and down! But, it makes no difference.

As a woman who is all about style, this Spyder has first place in my heart.
