Getting here was a least half the fun! That is what I kept telling myself last Saturday while queuing for three hours to check in and get through security at Plattsburgh Airport, on the way here. Being stuck axle deep in mud while trying to jump the divider on Interstate 4 (I had to Officer. Honest) did produce a few tense moments, but good Samaritans helped push us out (One of the pushers was plain scary!)
Never mind, we checked in at 2.30 am on Sunday morning, and picked up a couple of CanAm Spyders (An RT for me and an RS for fellow scribe Pascal Bastien, part of the Moto123.com delegation this year) for some first impressions on these new of updated models.
The Spyders went back this morning, and Pascal picked up a Harley-Davidson 48, with a couple of Triumph coming up. I picked up our photographer, Philippe Champoux, at 11 this morning, as he had just red-eyed in to Orlando from the NASCAR races at Vegas.
Plenty of stuff to come everyday this week, so stay tuned to the words and the hand held videos!
Ah, the "Much needed relief" comment. The reveller count is down, as organisers are hoping for 200,000 visitors over the six days. Visitors I spoke with all agree - They need to get out of winter and "Ride, Man!"
