The monstrous Ducati Diavel, the highest-performing cruiser in the world, adds a new Strada model with a host of touring accessories -- ideal for riders who crave the big city lights and the open road.
The 2013 Ducati Diavel Strada comes in two trim levels: Classic and Carbon. The latter features carbon fibre tank covers, passenger seat cover and front fender, as well as Marchesini forged aluminum wheels.
Long-distance cruising enthusiasts will appreciate the dual side bags, larger windshield, heated grips, increased seat padding, passenger backrest, and dual 12-volt outlets. That's pretty much what you can find on the Multistrada 1200.
Three new colour schemes are available in Classic trim: Matte Black, Blue/White, and Red/White. As for the frame, drivetrain and electronics (DTC, ABS and engine modes), there are no changes to report.
The 2013 Ducati Diavel Strada positions itself as a touring cruiser, which is a nice way for the Italian manufacturer to explore an all-new segment. With a quarter cruiser, a quarter street bike, a quarter superbike (courtesy of the Testastretta L-twin engine), and a quarter touring motorcycle, the Strada delivers one of the most unique and intriguing cocktails in the business.
Hopefully, we'll discover what it tastes like sooner rather than later.
